A painter of Georgian life — symbolic, color-saturated, devotional. Angels with trumpets, women in cobbled streets, schools of cobalt fishes. Painted from a studio in Rustavi for nearly four decades.

ქართული ცხოვრების მხატვარი — სიმბოლური, ფერებით გაჯერებული. ანგელოზები საყვირებით, ქალები ქვაფენილზე, კობალტისფერი თევზების გუნდი. ხატავს რუსთავის სტუდიაში თითქმის ოთხი ათეული წელია.

For nearly forty years, Beglar has painted from the same modest studio outside Tbilisi. Brushes in jars, canvases stacked against the wall, an angel watching from above the doorway.

The work is steady — figurative, ornamented, full of Georgian houses, fish, saints, and women walking nowhere in particular. The same world, painted patiently.

თითქმის ორმოცი წელია ბეგლარი ერთსა და იმავე მოკრძალებულ სტუდიაში მუშაობს რუსთავში. ფუნჯები ქილებში, ტილოები კედლის გასწვრივ, ანგელოზი კარის ზემოდან მზერით.

ნამუშევარი მუდმივია — ფიგურული, შემკული, ქართული სახლებით, თევზებით, წმინდანებითა და ქალებით, რომლებიც სადღაც დადიან.

About the artist. მხატვრის შესახებ.

Beglar Maisuradze was born in Tbilisi in 1957 and trained as an architect, graduating from the Polytechnic Institute in 1979. He began exhibiting in 1989, as the Soviet Union was beginning to come apart, taking part in the autumn and spring exhibitions of Tbilisi.

In 1990 his work travelled abroad for the first time — to a Georgian Artists' Exhibition in Switzerland, and the same year to a group show at Karvasla in Tbilisi. From 1992 to 1993 his paintings were shown at the Checkpoint Charlie Museum in West Berlin, in the years immediately after the Wall came down.

In 1994 he became a member of the UNESCO International Artists' Organization, Moscow branch, and the following year took part in the Georgian Artists' Exhibition in Moscow under UNESCO patronage. In 1997 he exhibited at Tbilisi State Gallery as part of the Rustavi Artists' show.

He lives and works in Rustavi.

ბეგლარ მაისურაძე დაიბადა თბილისში 1957 წელს. პროფესიით არქიტექტორი — დაამთავრა პოლიტექნიკური ინსტიტუტი 1979 წელს. გამოფენებში მონაწილეობას იწყებს 1989 წლიდან, საბჭოთა კავშირის დაშლის წინა წლებში.

1990 წელს მისი ნამუშევრები პირველად საზღვარგარეთ წარდგა — ქართველ მხატვართა გამოფენაზე შვეიცარიაში. 1992–1993 წლებში მისი ნახატები გამოიფინა ჩეკპოინტ ჩარლის მუზეუმში დასავლეთ ბერლინში.

1994 წელს გაწევრიანდა უნესკოს საერთაშორისო სამხატვრო ორგანიზაციის მოსკოვის ფილიალში, ხოლო შემდეგ წელს მონაწილეობდა გამოფენაში მოსკოვში უნესკოს ეგიდით. 1997 წელს გამოიფინა თბილისის სახელმწიფო გალერეაში.
